In a place called Tumkur in the state of Karnataka the Unique Identity (UID) project was launched on Friday and brought an end to the wait.

Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt, a 103 year old saint and one ten month old child named Syed were the first people to enroll them in the project, done by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) with Nandan Nilekani as its chair person.

Sri Shivakumara Swamiji had received Karnataka Ratna a prestigious title and the highest recognition for a civilian in the state.
According to Wipro Technical staff of Wipro Technologies, the pontiff will receive the ID within next fifteen days. Wipro Technologies is carrying on with the enrolment work in the Tumkur district of Karnataka.
After the child and Swamiji the district-in charge minister for Tumkur, Shobha Karandlaje and the energy minister got them enrolled for the Unique Identity.
