A 16-digit Aadhaar Number/ UID would be issued to every individual above 15 years of age, including NRIs, and foreigners residing in India. There are millions of Indians residing abroad, for whom the physical presence in India for providing fingerprints etc may not be feasible.

An individual who is a resident in India and satisfies the verification process laid down by the UIDAI can get an Aadhaar. Aadhaar UID doesn’t establish citizenship and is not only for Indians.

I have not heard of Indian govt providing this service outside of India.
Dear Si,
It is suggested to make a provision for NRI to issue a aadhaar card in the consulate of that country who ever the NRI is working or having the residence permit.
As we the Indian are No. 1 in the world for software Programmer’s. The government of India should make this facility for all NRI’s.

I am an NRI. my POI is my passport. i don’t stay at the address provided in the PP. I bought a house and plan to shift to the new house in the near future. which address shud be given as POA for Aadhaar card.
